The latest is a photo of the Messier 82 starburst galaxy by the Hubble Space telescope. Below is the original photo (stunning in itself) and two pieces of art created using that photo. The latter, the Starburst Wave, is much like the Universal Wave piece I created a year ago.

It’s been a busy week and tonight I am shooting the Inked Magazine Music Tour with the Damned Things. Photos of that show will be posted sometime this weekend… if the power doesn’t go out due to the hurricane ;) Anyway, here are some more photos of Fort Stark taken in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This is just one of seven forts in New Hampshire and Maine built to protect Portsmouth Harbor after the Spanish-American War, constructed in 1873.

Nerd alert: These photos were taken to be assembled as HDR (high dynamic range) images, which bring in as much detail as possible in the highlights, midtones and shadows. Hence, they are gloriously dramatic.
